Set an alert and we’ll email you the moment one appears. Around 95% of legs don’t match a first search — they come and go daily, so watching a route is how most people actually fly one.
Flying both ways? Book any leg and we’ll find or pair your return — plus transfers, catering, pets in the cabin and the full itinerary, handled end to end.
Legs into Dallas often start in Texas, Colorado and Nevada.
An empty leg is a private jet flying without passengers, repositioning between bookings. The operator is flying the route anyway, so the aircraft is offered for up to 75% less than a full charter. Whether you call it private jet hire, private jet rental or charter, the board above shows every live leg touching the five Dallas–Fort Worth airports that private flights use.
The metro spreads across two cities, and each part of it has its own airport. Your empty leg’s operator decides which one it uses, so it helps to know what each offers. Private passengers use the FBOs (private terminals), not the airline terminals.
Distances are straight-line figures from airport directories and the city’s visitor site, not road distances. Drive times depend on traffic, and your FBO can arrange a car to meet the aircraft.

Love Field is about 5 miles north-west of downtown Dallas, the closest of the five to the city centre. It has four full-service FBOs: Signature Flight Support, Atlantic Aviation, Jet Aviation and Business Jet Center, with meeting rooms, car hire and chauffeur service arranged on site. The longest runway is 8,800 ft, and customs is available on a user-fee basis. Love Field is also an airline airport, but private passengers use the FBOs rather than the main terminal.
Addison is about 9 miles north of Dallas. It is a dedicated general-aviation airport with a 7,203 ft runway and four FBOs: Million Air, Atlantic Aviation, Cutter Aviation and Elite Turbine. Customs is available on a user-fee basis with two hours’ notice. For north Dallas and the northern suburbs, it is often the most convenient choice.
DFW sits about 12 miles north-west of Dallas, between the two cities. Its longest runway is 13,401 ft, so it suits heavy jets and long-range flights. Private flights use DFW Corporate Aviation, and DFW is an airport of entry with customs, which makes it a natural choice for international arrivals. Ask your operator to confirm FBO opening hours for your arrival time.
Meacham is about 5 miles north of downtown Fort Worth, with a 7,502 ft runway and two FBOs, Texas Jet and Modern Aviation. Customs is available on weekdays with two hours’ notice. If you are staying in Fort Worth, it saves the drive across the metroplex.
McKinney is about 30 miles north of Dallas, with a 7,002 ft runway and one FBO, McKinney Air Center. The airport has its own dedicated US Customs and Border Protection facility with a private inspection area, so international flights clear on site. Ask your operator about hours and notice. It suits trips to the towns north of Dallas.
With an empty leg the airport comes with the flight, so the choice is usually between two legs rather than two airports. If you are pricing a full charter, pick the airport closest to where you are going and let the operator confirm it suits the aircraft.
Dallas empty legs are repositioning flights, so they go wherever the aircraft needs to be next, and the mix changes daily. The board is the live answer. Among the routes people search for, Dallas to Las Vegas is the most popular from the city, and Dallas to Aspen and Dallas to Houston also register.
If you fly the Texas triangle, see private jet hire Houston for the airports at the other end, or private jet hire Austin for the state capital. For every Texas airport on one board, see empty leg flights in Texas.
For the mountains and the coasts, see private jet hire Aspen, private jet hire Miami and private jet hire New York.
Light jets and turboprops tend to fly short Texas hops, while heavy jets turn up on long routes, so the mix on the Dallas board can shift quickly as fleets reposition. Our guide to empty leg flights in the USA explains where legs tend to appear across the country.
Empty legs are priced for the whole aircraft, not per seat, so the more of your group you bring, the less each person pays. The operator sets the listed price, and it can move as the departure date gets closer. Every price on the board follows the currency picker, so you can compare in dollars, pounds or euros.
Aircraft size and distance explain most of the spread: a turboprop on a short Texas hop sits at the bottom, a heavy jet on a long route at the top.
A full charter costs more because you also pay for the aircraft to come to you. An empty leg removes that cost, which is why it can be up to 75% cheaper. For hourly rates by class, see cheap private jet hire and our guide to private jet charter cost. For what legs actually sell for and the real saving, see empty leg flight cost.
If there is no leg on your dates, the “Didn’t find your leg?” tool below prices a full charter in seconds.
Empty legs follow where aircraft have been, so supply moves with demand elsewhere. A few patterns are worth knowing.
If your business jet trip from Dallas is a day return, out early and home for dinner, an empty leg rarely fits, because it flies one way on the operator’s timing. Where it works well is the one-way part of a trip, or a team that can move a meeting by a day to match a leg. For the cost-per-person maths for teams and how invoicing works, see our guide to corporate private jet charter. For when a dedicated flight makes more sense, read one-way private jet charter vs empty leg.
Many people search for semi-private flights from Dallas. They want what an empty leg offers, a private cabin for less than a full charter, but the two work differently. A semi-private service sells individual seats on a set schedule; an empty leg gives your group the whole aircraft on the operator’s route and timing. Our guide to empty leg vs semi-private explains which suits which trip.
